  • Critically acclaimed (and personally really enjoyed) novel Ready Player One which is set to be adapted by Steven Spielberg has confirmed Olivia Cooke as the female lead. (Source)
  • The Jack Reacher sequel (starring Tom Cruise) looks to have found our protagonists daughter in the form of Heroes Reborn cast member Danika Yarosh. How I Met Your Mother’s Cobi Smoulders also rumored to join. (Source)
  • Liam Neeson signs on for an action comedy called The Revenger, helmed by Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. (Source)
  • Darren Aronofsky is strongly linked with the biopic of Evil Knieval. Psychological depth and extreme realism to be expected. (Source)
  • Rachel McAdams looks to be the female lead in Marvel’s Doctor Strange opposite Benedict Cumberbatch. (Source)
  • Reportedly a month before due to start shooting Gambit’s (Played by Chaning Tatum) director Rupert Wyatt has left the project from the X-Men universe. (Source)
  • Pacific Rim 2 has been halted indefinitely as Universal pulled its support for Guillermo del Toro’s robot/monster mash up. (Source)

TV

  • Behind Enemy Lines (remember that film with Owen Wilson & Gene Hackman back in 2001?) is being developed as a TV show by Fox, giving us the umpteenth reboot to look forward to. (Source)
  • Roots is getting a retelling and has added Anna Paquin, Forest Whitaker and Jonathan Rhys Myers to it’s cast. (Source)
  • Daredevil’s blind mentor ‘Stick’ (Scot Glen) will be returning to Hells Kitchen in Season 2. (Source)
  • Stephen King’s ‘The Mist’ (the movie was underrated IMO) is being adapted into a TV show now Under the Dome is cancelled. (Source)
  • Thought you’d seen enough of the Taken franchise? Luc Besson plans a prequel TV series. (Source)

The Jungle Book

The teaser for Jon Favreau’s take on the classic children’s tale is finally here and looks pretty darn good. Impressive cast that includes; Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson & Idris Elba.

Allegiant

The 3rd (of 4) film of the Divergent franchise gives us a trailer that basically let’s us see what’s beyond the wall as well as a recap on starlet Tris ( Shailene Woodley). Jeff Daniels added along with the cast from previous films.
